Albert Watson Livermore
b. 18 May 1845, d. 11 Jan 1863
Albert Watson Livermore was born on 18 May 1845 at West Brookfield, Worcester
County, Massachusetts. He was the son of Sidney Augustus Livermore, born 28 March
1810, died 29 Jul 1879, and Lucy R. Watson, born 6 Oct 1818, died 6 Jan 1860.
Albert Watson Livermore was enumerated in
the household of Sidney A.
Livermore and Lucy R. Watson
in the 1850 US Federal Census on 20 Sep 1850 at West Brookfield, Massachusetts, where he lived.
On the 1860 census, Albert is living in Barre, MA. and his occupation is listed
as hostler. His family is still in West Brookfield.
At the time of his enlistment as a Private in the 15th
Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry on 7/12/1861, his age was listed as 18 and his
occupation was given as
hostler. On July 12, 1861, he mustered into
service with the 15th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, Company F. He
was credited to
the quota of West Brookfield, Massachusetts. He was actually16
years, 1 month and 24 days old.
He was listed as wounded at Antietam on September 17,
1862. He was a patient at the Patent Office Hospital, Washington, D.C.
with a thigh wound. He died on January 11, 1863 at West Brookfield, Massachusetts.
His death certificate states he died of a gunshot wound and is buried in North
Brookfield. He was 17 years and 8 months old.
Albert W. Livermore is listed on the Town of West Brookfield's Civil War
Monument on the Common.
On 23 Aug 1862, Charles H.
Livermore his brother enlisted in Co. D, 46th
Massachusetts Infantry.
