A Brookfield Planter Family

Samuel Kent

Samuel married Frances Woodall and she bore him 4 children. The children of Samuel and Frances were as follows:

  Samuel Kent England married Frances Woodall, at Gloucester on Jan 17, 1653/4. He died a freeman @ Springfield on February 2, 1690/1.
wife Frances Woodall   died at Suffield on August 10, 1683.
1 Sara Kent Aug 14, 1657 @ Gloucester Sep of 1686. Sara was in Suffield according to a court record.
2 Mary Dec 19, 1658 @ Gloucester  
3 Samuel, Jr. Oct 26, 1661 @Gloucester died May 31, 1740, his will dated 1737, named 5 surviving sons & 3 daughters. He had a grant of land in Suffield in 1679. He was very active in the affairs of the town.
4 John Apr 27, 1664 @ Gloucester He settled in Suffield in 1686 and had 12 children, all born @ Suffield. Captain John Kent served as Representative of Suffield in the General Court for many years.

Note:  Samuel was the younger brother of Thomas and was more active in the affairs of Quaboag Plantation.
