Asa Danforth, certifying that said Ross and others had been raised from the company of the 1st Precinct in Brookfield and marched to join army under Gen. Washington for "Nine months in the year 1778"; also, list of men mustered to serve in the Continental Army for the term of 9 months; said Ross appears among men belonging to Capt. Gilbert's co. and other companies in Col. Converse's regt.; engaged for town of Brookfield; mustered May 19[year not given, probably [p.586] 1778]; also descriptive list of men raised in Worcester Co. for the term of 9 months from the time of their arrival at Fishkill; Capt. Danforth's co., Col. Converse's regt.; age 21 yrs.; stature , 5 ft. 11in.; complexion, light; residence, Brookfield, West Parish; engaged for town of Brookfield; arrived at Fishkill June 7, 1778; also, list of men returned as received of Jonathan Warner, Commissioner, by Col. R. Putnam, July 20, 1778; arrived at Fishkill Jule 7, 1778; also, list of men returned as mustered by Henry Rutgers, Jr., Deputy Muster Master, dated Fishkill, Aug. 1, 1778.
